Class: Rainbow (Foundation Stage)

Teaching for: Almost 25 years!!

Favourite subject: P.E, Art and Maths

Background… have you always taught?

I studied at Leeds Polytechnic and completed at BEd (Hons) degree and then I worked at a Primary School in Yorkshire for 2 years. I moved 'down south' in 1993 to be with my 'Essex Boy' partner (now husband!) and I worked at Runwell County Primary School, Wickford for 8 years. I moved to Tiptree in 2001, having already had 2 children. I started supply work at St Luke's in September 2002 and then was offered a part-time job with Mrs Spicer in the Foundation Stage in 2003. I have taught in many year groups throughout the school with several job shares, but the Foundation Stage is my real passion.

A bit about hobbies/things you enjoy out of school…

I particularly like sport and I am well known for being very competitive!! I played hockey for many years until I tore the cartilage in my knee! However,  recently I took up running and completed a half marathon in 2013. I enjoy watching my boys play football, going to football matches and watching/playing any other sport that is on offer!! I also love going skiing and spending time 'up North' with my family.
