Dear Parents,

I am delighted to be writing to you as the new Headteacher of St Luke's. Having visited the school and church on several occasions prior to starting I have found all the staff, children and governors very welcoming and I feel privileged to be joining your school and village community. Having grown up in Colchester before successfully teaching and leading schools across the country I am very much looking forward to working in, and becoming part of, a growing community that is close to my childhood roots.

My priority as Head Teacher is to ensure that the school continues to improve and that your children are happy and get the best possible education. I am passionate about meeting the needs of every child and enabling them to reach their full potential in their academic, creative, personal, physical, moral and spiritual development. Working together, I hope that we will continue to develop St Luke's as a caring and integral part of the Tiptree community.

I look forward to meeting you all in the coming months and having the opportunity to talk to you about your children. I will be available in the library area or at the school gate in the mornings and hope to see many more of you at the next 'Coffee and Chat', Friday 15th September at 2pm. If there is anything else that you would like to discuss please do not hesitate to contact the office who will be able to make arrangements or pop your suggestions into the suggestion box outside my office.

Kindest regards,

Martin Moriarty
